01 — Best AI Short Film (up to 7 mins)
A complete short film created using AI tools, up to 7 minutes. Open to all genres and styles.
- £35.50
02 — Best AI Feature Film (5–100 mins)
A complete AI-generated or AI-assisted film with a runtime of between 5 and 100 minutes. All genres welcome. Filmmakers must state the exact runtime of their film and declare all AI tools used in production. Submissions must have been completed after January 2026.

03 — Best AI Animation (up to 7 mins)
An animated film up to 7 minutes created using AI tools. Open to all animation styles and techniques.

04 — Best AI Anime Film (up to 7 mins)
An anime-style film up to 7 minutes created using AI tools. Open to all narrative approaches.

05 — Best AI Music Video (up to 7 mins)
A music video up to 7 minutes created using AI tools. Must accompany an original music track.

06 — Best AI Documentary (up to 7 mins)
A documentary up to 7 minutes created using AI tools exploring real people, events, cultures or ideas.

07 — Best AI Commercial (up to 7 mins)
A brand or product advertisement up to 7 minutes created using AI tools.

08 — Best AI Movie Trailer (up to 7 mins)
A cinematic trailer or teaser up to 7 minutes created using AI tools.

09 — OPUS People's Choice Award (up to 7 mins)
Enter your film (up to 7 minutes) for the audience vote. The winner is decided live on the night.

10 — The Luminary Award — presented by She Builds with AI (up to 7 mins)
Honouring a woman whose AI filmmaking lights the way for others. Films up to 7 minutes. A direct entry award celebrating women creating with AI.
Grand Prix — awarded on the night by full jury decision. No submission required.

Filmmakers retain full ownership and copyright of their submitted work. By submitting, you grant OPUS Film Awards a limited, non‑exclusive licence to use excerpts, stills and trailers for the promotion of the awards. Winning films may be showcased via OPUS’s official platform partners as part of a post‑event feature, with the filmmaker’s agreement.
Eligibility & AI Disclosure
- Films must be created using AI tools.
- Full AI tools disclosure is mandatory. At the point of submission you must list every AI tool, model or service used across production — image, video, audio, voice, music, upscaling and editing — and note the role of each. Incomplete or missing disclosures may disqualify an entry.
- Films must have been completed after 1st January 2026.
- All genres and styles are welcome.
- Films previously screened or published elsewhere are eligible, provided they meet the completion date above.
Submission
- A submission fee applies per entry: £25.50 for all categories, £35.50 for Best AI Feature Film.
- Runtimes vary by category. Please check individual category requirements.
- Submissions close 5th September 2026.
- Entries may be submitted via FilmFreeway or directly through this website.
Judging
- Shortlisted films are assessed by the OPUS jury.
- The Grand Prix is awarded on the night by full jury decision and requires no submission.
- The OPUS People’s Choice Award is decided by live audience vote on the night.
